The Dutch striker has been included in HSV's match squad for the game against Koln...
Hamburger SV coach Bruno Labbadia told the press on Thursday that new signing Ruud van Nistelrooy wouldn't be part of the match squad for Saturday's Bundesliga game against Koeln.
However, the HSV gaffer has now decided to add the former Real Madrid striker to his selection after all. Attackers Tunay Torun and Mladen Petric are both short of full match fitness, prompting Labbadia to add van Nistelrooy to his squad.
It appears unlikely that the 33-year-old will be part of the starting XI against Koeln, but a short appearance coming off the bench in the final minutes of the game could be on the horizon.
Meanwhile, according to a report in Bild, young defender Jerome Boateng is doubtful for Saturday's game. The German international has picked up an ankle injury and could therefore be forced to watch the match from the stands. |
